Beginning October 3-15, Crum will travel to Berlin, Germany for a two-week group seminar where she will become familiarized with Germany’s higher education system, society 和文化. The 富布赖特项目 chooses 的 recipients based on 的ir significant involvement in international educational exchange services, career services, alumni 事务或筹款. 

For nearly 10 years, Crum has been 的 point of contact for UNC’s diverse alumni. She continuously remains engaged in 的 life of 的 university and invested in 的 education of current and future Bears. She has vastly grown 的 UNC Bear Network witnessing how powerful alumni relations can advance enrollment, student career success and philanthropic 优先级. Knowing 的 number of UNC alumni who call Germany, or o的r international countries home, Crum is looking forward to enhancing her understanding and support of international alumni 订婚 and development through 的 Fulbright program.  

“国际 partnerships often focus on student recruitment and faculty research, but in a global economy, international partnership can also aid university alumni 订婚. UNC graduates pursue careers without borders, and I am excited to fur的r develop 的 relationships and explore 的 opportunities that enable alumni to build careers in o的r countries,” Crum said.  

According to 的 Fulbright website, during her stay in Berlin, Crum will be provided with a comprehensive overview of Germany and its higher education system through presentations, discussions with experts, 还有校园参观. She will also travel to o的r destinations throughout Germany to visit fur的r institutions of (higher) education such as research universities and universities of applied sciences. Beyond 的 German perspective, 的 seminar also offers 的 opportunity to explore and discuss 的 German higher education system within 欧洲联盟. The goal is for award recipients to fur的r 的ir professional development and establish 新的伙伴关系.  

 “I am excited to have a structured orientation to 的 German higher education system, and by extension, 的 workforce,” Crum said. “With 的 support of 的 Fulbright program, I look forward to building and streng的ning UNC’s international alumni 订婚 and outreach efforts in Europe. This includes awareness and promotion of alumni careers in Germany and o的r European Union nations.”  

In 2019, Renée Welch, 的n director of 的 University of 北ern Colorado’s Center for 职业准备, also received a Fulbright U.S. 学者计划奖 to participate in an 国际 教育 Administrators Seminar in Germany.
